Jesy Nelson's Darkest Hour: The Truth Behind Her Hospitalization (2026)

Jesy Nelson's Emotional Journey: From Rock Bottom to Freedom

'I basically just sat everyone down and I just explained how I was feeling.' Jesy Nelson, a former member of Little Mix, has bravely shared the moment she hit rock bottom. In her Prime documentary, Jesy revealed the devastating hospital stay that led to her decision to leave the band. It all started when her bandmates shut her out, leaving her feeling isolated and like 'no-one cared' about her.

But here's where it gets controversial... Jesy's bandmates, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, were not immediately supportive. Jesy had expressed her unhappiness in the band, struggling to cope with the spotlight and online attention after quarantine. When she sat them down to discuss her feelings, their response was less than empathetic. One of them asked, 'Are you done now, is that it?' leaving Jesy feeling even more alone and questioning the point of it all.

'I was like 'okay' and she was like 'can I go now?' I remembering feeling like 'woah’ and that just made me feel alone and like there's no point to this, no-one cares.'

Her mother, Janice, sensing her daughter's distress, tried to reach out. She recalled, 'A few days before she had just been down, really down, and not talking much... I got a gut feeling that something wasn't right.' Despite her efforts, Jesy's bandmates' lack of support pushed her to take drastic actions, resulting in a hospital stay.

'She just wanted to be on her own quite a lot, I just got a gut feeling that something wasn't right and so I kept ringing and ringing and then I wasn't getting no answer.'

Jesy's mental health struggles are not new. She has previously dealt with online bullying and even took an overdose after X Factor. Her decision to leave Little Mix was a result of feeling mentally exhausted and hurt by the band's dynamics. Jesy never had the chance to have a proper discussion with her bandmates, as they insisted on having a therapist present, which made her feel like she had lost her 'sisters'.

'I just was so sad, like I was so down, I knew from that moment anyway that I just mentally couldn't do it.'

Now, Jesy is moving forward and sharing her story to raise awareness and encourage others to seek support. Her documentary, 'Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix', is a powerful testament to her resilience and determination to overcome her struggles. So, have you ever felt like no-one cared?
