The glitter ball dreams of one couple have been shattered, leaving only four stars to compete for the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 crown! After another emotional elimination, the semi-finalists have been confirmed, and the competition is heating up.
This past Sunday, the dance floor saw its latest casualty: former Emmerdale star Lewis Cope and his partner, Katya Jones. They found themselves in the bottom two, facing off against reality TV star Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin after the musical week performances.
Sadly, despite their energetic salsa to "Dance At The Gym" from West Side Story, the judges chose to send Lewis home. But here's where it gets controversial: Did the judges make the right call? Or was another couple more deserving of the chop?
Amber Davies, who wowed the audience with her Charleston to "Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat" from Guys And Dolls, now joins Balvinder Sopal, George Clarke, and Karen Carney in the semi-finals.
Lewis Cope, reflecting on his journey, expressed his gratitude, saying, "It's been more than I could have ever wished for." He added that he was "over the moon" to have made it to week 11. He also praised his dance partner Katya Jones, calling her a friend and teacher who gave him "absolutely everything." Jones, in turn, described Cope as a "gentleman, so humble and so kind."
It's worth noting that Davies and Kuzmin actually topped Saturday's leaderboard, earning a perfect score for their performance. The other couples also delivered impressive performances. Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon came in second with their Viennese Waltz, while George Clarke performed an Argentine tango, and Karen Carney took on the samba.
And this is the part most people miss... The semi-final is scheduled to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 18:35 GMT on Saturday, December 13th, with the results show following at 19:45 GMT the next day. Each couple will perform two new routines, and viewers can look forward to performances from Kylie Minogue and boyband Five.
