Leyburn's Crime-Hit Public Toilets: A Transformation into a Visitor and Heritage Hub
Leyburn's former public toilet block, plagued by anti-social behavior and high operational costs, is set to undergo a remarkable transformation. Thanks to a generous funding of over £115,000, the Kelberdale toilets, located off Market Place, will be revitalized into a vibrant visitor and heritage hub. Thirty more accessibility audits of businesses and attractions will be conducted, ensuring a comprehensive approach to making the town more inclusive.
Furthermore, the Access the Dales charity has generously donated a wheelchair scooter to the hub, demonstrating a commitment to accessibility. The town council invites residents and businesses to actively participate in the project by contributing content for the hub and website.
